A graduation in Mathematics (Hons.) is what the degree says, but what stayed with me was the experience with the Social Service League and introduction to the sport of Ultimate Frisbee by an exchange student from Brown University. Meeting 15 kids from an urban village of Zamrudpur in GK-1 inspired me to explore ultimate frisbee as a medium of education. After finishing my 2-year fellowship with Teach for India in Hyderabad by being a full-time teacher in a government school, I moved back to Delhi to be reunited with the bunch that inspired me.
Getting closer with these kids and seeing them grow into young adults with aspirations. However not having the privilege and support systems to thrive was a challenge. I started Y-Ultimate, a non-profit to support these young ones and the next generation by building their life skills and create opportunities to develop their professional skills to transition into careers of their choice.
